A few years ago (at about the time of the worst drought in Cape Town’s history), we developed a cistern mechanism that not only saves water, but that also contributes to saving home owners and Municipalities money.
One of the biggest culprits for losses are real or physical losses that occur because of leakage owing to poor operation and maintenance. If this problem can be addressed, the Municipalities will recover more direct income and the home owner will have a saving on their water accounts. HOW THE MINOS CISTERN MECHANISM WORKS
Our MINOS cistern mechanisms can be retrofitted to any toilet cistern. This can either be done when the existing mechanism fails or when customers want to change their systems to save water. The cistern remains empty between uses to prevent any water leaks. Upon entering the toilet, the user fills the cistern by pushing the button. When done, flushes the toilet as normal. The cistern remains empty until the next use, and therefore cannot leak.
The MINOS cistern system can be retrofitted to any cistern that works with a dual button or lever flush handle.
