The ProNutro Story

Our story began in 1937 when Dr. Fox of the Medical Research Institute of Johannesburg identified a need for a high quality protein food to serve the country that was stricken with malnutrition due to consumption of too many carbohydrates with little or no protein.

 

 After 25 years of research with 828 doctors, his passion and commitment finally paid off.

 

 It didn’t take long for this convenient, tasty, balanced food to become a family favorite.  ProNutro became the first choice for people who needed energy, be it on the sports field, at school or at the office.

 

Demand continued to grow and from its humble origins at Vandley Mill in the Orange Free State, ProNutro is still one of South Africa's leading cereal brands.

 

Today we still use cooked soya and blend it with the perfect balance of amino acids to give you the benefits of all the goodness in ProNutro, 100% balanced protein.
