It all depends on how many items you connect for power. The unit will lasts for days if you only charge mobile phones, but the bigger the power requirement, the more power you will use. You can easily run some LED lights, an alarm system, a TV, Internet and Wifi for up to 7 hours. But you would still have to calculate your power usage to give you a more accurate number of hours. An inverter converts the DC electricity from sources such as batteries or fuel cells to AC electricity. The electricity can be at delivered at any required voltage; in particular it can operate AC equipment designed for mains operation, or rectified to produce DC at any desired voltage.

Yes, it is normal to hear a fan blowing. The PowaBox comes with a built in temperature regulator, and the fan will switch on from time to time if required to regulate the temperature.
